The space today called Claro Theater MAIS RJ occupies the historic Tereza Rachel Theater, a house deeply linked to cultural life Copacabana and Rio de Janeiro.
After remaining more than ten years without regular activities, the theater was leased in April 2011 by cultural producers Frederico Reder and Juliana Reder, managers of the production company Brain.
The reform began in 2011 and was intensified in early 2012. The revitalization project was developed to modernize the structure, preserve the identity of the space and allow the realization of large productions.
In April 4, 2012, the house reopened as NET Rio Theater, with the show Bibi – Stories and Songs, in which Bibi Ferreira celebrated 90 years of life and 70 years of career.

In January of 2020, a partnership between Claro Brasil and Brain presented a new identity for the house, which came to be called Claro Theater.
In 2023, the project More Accessibility Movement began a new phase, with audio description resources, Libras and subtitles in the content presented.
The change also brought about the reformulation of the brand for Claro Theater MORE. In Rio de Janeiro, the name currently used on official channels is Claro Theater MAIS RJ.
