Since 1997, the space has brought the Rio public closer together of plays, comedies, musicals and theater training projects.
O Miguel Falabella Theater opened in August 1997, during a phase of expansion of NorteShopping. The project intended expand the complex’s entertainment options and create a reference music venue for the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
Construction took approximately six months. The planning included stage, warp, light sticks and scenery, walkways, dressing rooms, audience and balcony, allowing productions to be hosted theaters of different formats.
Once completed, the space was named Miguel Falabella. The actor, director, playwright and presenter participated in the first years of the artistic and administrative trajectory of the house.
In 2000, the administration was taken over by Laura Actors Company, group created in 1992 from a meeting of artists at Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim.
Under the company's management, the theater consolidated programming linked mainly to comedy, children's theater, musicals, stand-up and national productions circulating in Rio.
