With 26 thousand m² of built area and 4.5 million liters of water, they are the largest Marine Aquarium in South America!
AquaRio has 5 thousand residents of 350 species from Brazil and the world, divided into 28 enclosures – or rather, homes. Furthermore, it has new attractions and all the necessary infrastructure to provide fun and education to all audiences.
Part of AquaRio's resources go to research programs in Brazil focused on marine biology, environmental issues and sustainability. During the tour, we can take photos (no flash, please) in areas such as the Oceanic and Diving Enclosure, the largest tank in the aquarium with a capacity of 3.3 million liters of water and seven meters deep. At the same time, we learned a little more about aquatic life and the impact of our actions on its ecosystem. Towards the end of the tour, we pass under a tunnel and see the water beneath us, which gives a unique sensation.
