Inspirado na trajetória de Maria Quitéria de Jesus, o espetáculo revela a força e a coragem da baiana que desafiou as convenções, vestiu-se de homem para lutar na guerra, e se tornou uma heroína. A Bahia, palco das batalhas pela emancipação, é o cenário dessa história que mistura ritmos e sonoridades brasileiras com a grandiosidade de um musical moderno. Ao lado de Quitéria, o público reencontra heroínas como Maria Felipa e Joana Angélica. Entre drama e humor, música e emoção, o espetáculo revela a jornada de uma mulher à frente do seu tempo. Brazil and Bahia’s independence gain a new voice in Quitéria, the Musical: a decolonized narrative told from the perspective of women who fought for freedom and were silenced by history. Inspired by the life of Maria Quitéria de Jesus, the show reveals the strength and courage of the Bahian woman who defied conventions, dressed as a man to fight in the war, and became a heroine. Bahia, the stage of the emancipation battles, is the setting for this story that blends Brazilian rhythms and sounds with the grandeur of a modern musical. Alongside Quitéria, the audience reconnects with heroines like Maria Felipa and Joana Angélica. Between drama and humor, music and emotion, the show portrays the journey of a woman ahead of her time.
