No próximo dia 18 de março, quarta-feira, o Teatro Claro MAIS RIO recebe o grupo internacional The Olivia Newton Band com o show “Olivia Live”, um emocionante tributo à cantora, compositora, atriz e ativista britânica-australiana Olivia Newton John. A apresentação acontece às 20h30.

A origem do grupo remonta a 8 de agosto de 2022, quando a cantora Cristina Araya e o produtor musical Daniel Lizana, profundamente comovidos com a notícia da morte de Olivia, decidiram concretizar uma ideia que já haviam discutido inúmeras vezes: formar uma banda para interpretar o vasto repertório da artista que tanto admiravam. O desafio era enorme, assim como a motivação. A impressionante semelhança vocal de Cristina, aliada à abordagem musical de Daniel, que buscava recriar fielmente o som dos álbuns originais, foram os elementos centrais para o nascimento deste projeto.

Desde o início, Olivia Live com The Olivia Newton Band focaram em uma homenagem séria e respeitosa, destacando o catálogo de Olivia Newton John e recriando o universo musical criado por John Farrar e seus compositores e arranjadores originais, evitando qualquer caricatura.

On Wednesday, March 18th, Teatro Claro MAIS RIO hosts the international The Olivia Newton Band with the show “Olivia Live”, an emotional tribute to the British-Australian singer, songwriter, actress, and activist Olivia Newton-John. The performance starts at 8:30 PM.

The group’s origin dates back to August 8, 2022, when singer Cristina Araya and music producer Daniel Lizana, deeply moved by the news of Olivia’s passing, decided to bring to life an idea they had discussed many times: forming a band to interpret the extensive repertoire of the artist they greatly admired. The challenge was huge, as was their motivation. Cristina’s remarkable vocal resemblance and Daniel’s musical approach, aiming to faithfully recreate the sound of the original albums, were key elements in creating this project.

From the beginning, Olivia Live with The Olivia Newton Band focused on a serious and respectful tribute, highlighting Olivia Newton-John’s catalog and recreating the musical universe created by John Farrar and the original composers and arrangers, avoiding any caricature.
