Mel Lisboa em MADAME BLAVATSKY no Teatro PRIO

Mel Lisboa apresenta MADAME BLAVATSKY, um solo inspirado na trajetória da escritura russa Helena Petrovna Blavátskaya (1831-1891), cofundadora da Sociedade Teosófica. A peça retrata a vida dessa figura emblemática através de um monólogo dramaturgicamente criado por Claudia Barral, inspirado pelo contato da autora com a peça “Madame Blavatsky”, de Plínio Marcos. A direção é assinada por Marcio Macena.

O espetáculo brinca com os limites da ficção e investiga as convenções da representação teatral, simulando uma incorporação mediúnica e proporcionando uma experiência mística ao público. Em cena, o espírito de Blavatsky exige retornar ao teatro, usando o corpo da atriz para esclarecer sua controversa trajetória. Durante a apresentação, ela é interrompida por outros espíritos, que também desejam compartilhar suas impressões.

A proposta é apresentar uma figura complexa, dinâmica e independente, responsável pela sistematização da moderna Teosofia — doutrina filosófica, esotérica e ocultista que busca o conhecimento direto dos mistérios da vida, da natureza e da divindade.

Blavatsky enfrentou ataques e injúrias por sua coragem de expor verdades consideradas blasfêmicas. Apesar das dificuldades, ela se considerava feliz por trabalhar “a serviço da humanidade” e deixou uma obra que resiste ao tempo, confiando que as futuras gerações julgarão sua contribuição.

Mel Lisboa presents MADAME BLAVATSKY, a solo performance inspired by the life of Russian writer Helena Petrovna Blavátskaya (1831–1891), co-founder of the Theosophical Society. The play depicts this iconic figure’s journey through a monologue written by Claudia Barral, inspired by her contact with the play “Madame Blavatsky” by Plínio Marcos. The direction is by Marcio Macena.

The performance plays with the boundaries of fiction and explores theatrical conventions by simulating a mediumistic incorporation, offering the audience a mystical experience. On stage, Blavatsky’s spirit demands to return to the theater, using the actress’s body to clarify her controversial life. Throughout the show, she is interrupted by other spirits eager to share their impressions as well.

The aim is to portray a complex, dynamic, and independent figure responsible for systematizing modern Theosophy — a philosophical, esoteric, and occult doctrine seeking direct knowledge of life’s mysteries, nature, and divinity.

Blavatsky faced attacks and slander for her courage to reveal truths considered blasphemous. Despite these challenges, she considered herself happy to work “in service of humanity” and left a legacy that withstands time, trusting future generations to judge her work.
